The Digital Panchayat programme has been launched to develop, train and introduce new skills in ICT and web to enable Panchayats to have their own web platforms and enable Panchayat functionaries to manage their own activities online. Under this, workshop led trainings are being held to provide first hand training. The programme was first launched in Sivasagar District of Assam with 21 Panchayats. The Digital Panchayat is a national initiative of Digital Empowerment Foundation and National Internet Exchange of India. North East Development Foundation is regional implementation partner.
